Meeting Recap: March 2, 2026 — Wine Country Model Club

The Wine Country Model Club met on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the Round Table in Rohnert Park with 20 members in attendance and one guest, who has now joined the club as our newest member. We were very pleased to welcome Carlos Guidino and look forward to having him join us at future meetings.

The evening began with a brief recap of our recent club field trip to the Museum of Sonoma County, where members toured the exhibit Take Me to the Water: Histories of the Black Pacific and enjoyed lunch together afterward. Members also heard about plans for a future club outing to the Nike Missile Site in Marin County, tentatively scheduled for late spring or early summer following the Expo.

A short update was also provided on preparations for the upcoming Wine Country Model Expo. Planning continues to move along well and momentum remains strong as we head into the final stretch before the event.

As always, the Show & Tell portion of the meeting was a highlight of the evening, with members bringing a wide variety of impressive projects to share and discuss.

This month’s discussion topic asked a simple but meaningful question:
“What do you get from modeling? Why do you model?”

The conversation that followed reflected the many different ways members connect with the hobby. Responses ranged from relaxation and craftsmanship to history, problem-solving, creativity, and the camaraderie found in sharing the hobby with others. It was a thoughtful and engaging discussion that reminded us why so many of us keep coming back to the bench.

The club’s next meeting will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026.

Photos from the evening, including candid moments and Show & Tell highlights, accompany this recap.

Nights like this are a reminder of why this club works.
