The Wine Country Model Club met on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Round Table in Rohnert Park for a very well-attended and energetic evening. The room had a great buzz throughout the night, with strong participation, lively discussion, and a wide range of excellent models on display.
It was especially nice to welcome back several members we had not seen for a while. Reconnecting with returning members added to the positive energy of the evening and reinforced the strong sense of community within the club.
Expo Planning Update
The meeting began with an update on preparations for the upcoming Wine Country Model Expo. Planning continues to move along very well, and there is solid momentum as we head into the final stretch. Members remain actively engaged and supportive as the event approaches.
Show & Tell and Discussion Topic
As always, Show & Tell was a highlight of the evening, with members bringing a diverse and impressive range of projects to share.
The evening’s discussion topic asked the provocative question:
“Is scale modeling art?”
This sparked a thoughtful and wide-ranging conversation. Members shared differing perspectives on craftsmanship, creativity, interpretation, and intention, resulting in an engaging and respectful exchange of ideas that reflected the depth and diversity of the club’s interests.
