The Wine Country Model Club held an energetic meeting on Monday November 3, 2025 at Mountain Mike’s in Rohnert Park with 21 members and guests attending.
President James Morando first unveiled the club’s first ever challenge coins displaying our new logo which were well received. He then reported on the plans for club members to attend the upcoming Fremont Hornets Tr-City Classic model show set for Saturday November 8, 2025 and reminded members that our ongoing “Vintage” kits group build will conclude at the December meeting where we have a “People’s Choice” awards.
The good news that Dean had successfully confirmed the much lower non-profit rate at the Petaluma Community Center was reported and that plans for the April 11, 2026 Expo are now set. We discussed the Expo sponsorship opportunities being made available first to club members and a number of folks including Ben Harper, Hal Sanford, Dev Sodagar and Carl Molesworth have already committed.
Plans were also discussed for the annual Holiday gift exchange event which will be held on Saturday January 10, 2026 which will feature our always popular Elephant gift exchange including steals. Members then received an updated explanation and tutorial on use of the club’s Discord server.
The Show and Tell session was lots of fun as always, with many new fantastic works by club members being presented. This included some heartfelt discussion in this Thanksgiving month around the things that each member is grateful for with respect to modeling.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday December 1, 2025.
