generic meeting

Meeting Minutes: October 6, 2025

The Wine Country Model Club held a very fun meeting on Monday October 6, 2025 with 17 members and guests attending.  With the close of the club’s former meeting venue at Fundemonium, we started a new chapter enjoying pizza and drinks while meeting at Mountain Mike’s in Rohnert Park.

Dean Wallace led the meeting and announced that the transition of the club’s website to the domain name winecountrymodelclub.com is now complete.  Much thanks Randy Bumgardner and Kevin Steeper for making this happen.  Dean then reported that unfortunately our club field trip to the Nike Missile Site SF-88 is now on hold due to the government shutdown.  Dean also reminded members of our ongoing “Vintage” kits group build that will conclude at the December meeting.

Dean then reported on the success of the make and take event the club hosted at the Pacific Coast Air Museum “Wheels and Wings Car Show” held on Saturday September 20, 2025.  We had many kids stopping by and participating.  Club members Ted Riehl, Kevin Steeper, Ray Kummer and Dean Wallace manned the club table and provided some tips to the junior model builders.

One of the highlights of the meeting was a very informative presentation by Dean Wallace on the benefits and ways to use a dehydrator in modeling.  The Show and Tell session showed off many new works and projects by club members.  Getting everyone in the Halloween spirit, we had a great discussion with folks talking about the aspects of modeling and the kits in their stashes that “scare” them the most.

Our next meeting will be held at 6:30 pm on Monday November 3, 2025 at Mountain Mike’s.
