The club held its monthly meeting on Monday May 5 at Fundemonium in Rohnert Park. We had a great turnout with 22 members attending.

Reminding members of the deadline for completion of our “Wings” themed group build will be the next club meeting on June 2 with gift cards to be awarded to recognize the outstanding models.
Reporting that the next local model shows are Silver Con on Saturday May 17, 2025 in Sacramento, and the Kublacon Prime show on Memorial Day weekend May 25-27, 2025 in Burlingame.
Announcing the exciting news that Kevin Steeper had agreed to be the Show Coordinator and Randy Bumgardner has agreed to be head judge for the club’s next model show which is being planned for Spring 2026. A big thanks to Kevin and Randy for stepping up! Anyone interested in helping and being involved in the show planning should contact Kevin, Dean, Ray or James.
Reminding folks that the next election for club board members will be conducted at the club’s meeting in July, and encouraging anyone interested in serving on the board to contact Dean, Ray or James.
Reporting on the success of the sale of more items from the Paul Anderson estate dnation to the club when at the recent Hobby Swap Meet held in Santa Rosa on April 27. Thanks on behalf of the club was expressed to Dean, Ray, Chris for their efforts.
We then enjoyed an excellent presentation and demo by Randy Bumgardner on the use of the dot filtering technique for weathering.
We had a great Show and Tell session with a large number of members participating and showing off some really great work. We continued our practice of having each member speak during the Show and Tell to the topic of the month and had lots of good discussion and interchanges about this month’s topic which was: “How important is finishing a model? Are you someone that will strive to finish a kit once started no matter what, or will you stop when you’re not having fun anymore?”
Following the meeting we had a record turnout of members joining for post-meeting food and drinks at nearby Applebee’s, as we continue to build our community and enjoy the most fun part of our get togethers – handing out and talking with club friends.
