We’re excited to announce a brand new kind of scale modelling event coming to Northern California.
On April 11, 2026, we’re launching the first-ever Wine Country Model Expo in Petaluma – a show built from the ground up to celebrate the hobby, the craft, and the modelling community,
Unlike traditional contest formats, this Expo brings together two approaches rarely seen together in the U.S.:
- Exhibition-style displays, where each modeller’s body of work is shown together, encouraging conversation, inspiration and deeper connection
- Open System Evaluations, focusing on skill development with gold, silver and bronze awards based on the work itself – not how it compares with others
To round out the experience, the Expo will also feature:
- Invited speakers presenting on history, figure painting, scratchbuilding and diorama building
- A charitable silent auction as well as a raffle
- A terrific venue with great lighting, ample free parking and excellent nearby food
- A post-event social gathering to continue conversations and build community
